France has pledged its support to India’s bid to host the Olympics and Paralympic Games in 2036, sharing its experience in hosting the world’s biggest sporting events this year. Deccan Herald reported that French President Emmanuel Macron has promised to open up doors of training facilities in France for Indian athletes and to share France’s experience from this year’s Olympics and Paralympics in Paris.

This is a significant development for India’s bid to host the Olympics in 2036. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had officially announced India’s intention to bid for the rights to host the Olympic Games in 2036 on October 14 last year. France is the first foreign nation to pledge its support to India’s bid for the right to host the Olympics and Paralympics in 2036.

In response to France’s offer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I thank President Macron for his support to India’s bid to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2036. This is a great opportunity for India to showcase its sporting talent to the world. We look forward to working closely with France to make this a reality”.

We are grateful for France’s support and look forward to working together to make this a success”.
